Mass & Prayer

Family Masses are held once each term for the whole College community:

• Opening Mass – February
• Champagnat Day Mass – June
• Feast of the Assumption – August
• Thanksgiving Mass – November

Family Masses are held in the Br Emilian Hall and their exact dates are listed in the College calendar. Attendance at Family Masses is compulsory for all students.

All boys attend Mass on Holy Days of Obligation and boarding students attend Mass on Sunday evening at 8:15pm.

Voluntary Masses are held on Wednesday morning at 8:10am and Saturday morning during winter sports season at 7:15am.

Boys are encouraged to attend and families are very welcome to all Masses at the College.

In conjunction with the boys’ Religious Education classes, Masses are organised and conducted for individual year groups. Opportunities are provided for boys to attend Reconciliation throughout the year.

The boys are led in prayer at assemblies, in pastoral groups, in class and in the dormitories during the evening. The Chapel is always open and many boys take the opportunity to write prayer intentions in the large book provided for this purpose.
