Body of Work:
The body of work involves a sustained investigation of a concept through an artmaking practice such as painting, drawing, photomedia, time-based-forms (filmmaking), printmaking, graphic design, sculpture, documented forms, ceramics.
engaging in the creative process through critical reflection and reflective evaluation through the use of the Visual Arts Process Diary.
Recommendation
- Visual Arts involves the integration of the making of artworks and the historical and critical investigation of artist, artworks, the world and audience.
- Initiative, critical thinking and independence will assist in self-managing the making of the body of work.
- Engagement and commitment to developing skills in analysis and interpretive extended response writing.
Prerequisites
- None.
- Every student has studied Visual arts in Year 7 and 8.
- The syllabus content areas of Practice, the Frames, and the Conceptual Framework continue into the HSC Course.

Art Historical and Critical Study: Five Case Studies: in-depth investigations into artists and their world through Practice, the Conceptual Framework and The Frames such as:
Artist as Rebel: Manet, Ai Wei Wei
Contemporary Practice: Jonathan Jones, Fiona Hall
Less is More: Minimalist Aesthetic in Art: Architecture and abstract expressionism
Contemporary Chinese Art: Xu Zhen and the MadeIn Company
Bling: Jeff Koons, Rococo Art, Palace of Versailles and Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia.
